Those in high places

4A.1 “When a man destitute of benevolence is in a high station, he thereby disseminates his wickedness among all below him.”

“To place one who is not humane in high office is to scatter his wickedness over the masses. When those who rule lack the guidelines of morality, those below lack adherence to any standards; when courtiers keep no faith with the Dao, workmen keep no faith with their measures; when the nobility violate right, commoners violate laws. If such a state survives it is by luck alone.” ~Mencius, 372-289 BC

Hello world!

We have no greater need in the world today than a return to reason, thoughtful consideration, and moral balance. We no longer live in a world where people or countries can act merely on impulse, or as if other people don’t exist and don’t matter.

It is time to put away tribalism and start learning how to live together with at least one common ethic. That ethic is that no one based on a religious belief may take the life of another.

We MUST learn to value life and not dogma. To kill another who does not threaten your own physical existence is to act psychotically. It is time to start living, sanely, humanely, and spiritually rather than just religiously.
